The Theme: Go Green
A Green wedding, also known as an eco-wedding, is a wedding that implements the environmental needs of the world into elements of the wedding. Eco-weddings as well as many other parties and social events are becoming increasingly popular, which is a very good thing for our planet.
We decided to have a Green wedding because we felt that it was just one way that we could help the environment and help to increase awareness about climate change and how it is affecting us all. In a world where there are so many things going on, we felt that it was a good opportunity to get the word out and encourage people to take part.

First came the proposal, then we shared the news! Here are some pictures from the actual day Jaye proposed, as well as when we shared the news and celebrated with our family and friends.
Here are some photos from back in the planning stages. We had assembly parties with our very creative and crafty wedding party, had a party to pick dress designs and colours for our bridal party, took a few pictures while making the wedding dresses, documented applying for a marriage licence and even made our way to one of those crazy wedding shows at the Toronto Convention Centre even though the planning was done! It was all so much fun!
Our moms planned a big surprise bridal shower for us a few months before the wedding. What a crazy fun time! They hadn't had that much fun with their Titas and Moms and Lola in . . . ever? It was a wonderful shower. Thank you!
We had a games night/meet and greet with our wedding party. Most of them had met before, but we thought this would be a good ice breaker and a good opportunity to get to know one another. The night consisted of snacks and dinner, a quiz game about members of the wedding party and one of our favourites, Cranium....which the boys won.
Our wedding party threw a Jack and Jill shower for us but it wasn't just any shower. It was a Pampered Chef one! One of our favourite brands has its consultants, (Leah, the Matron of Honour happened to be one) do shows at showers allowing guests to purchase products for the bride- and groom-to-be and of course, for themselves too. It was a great day, with good food, good fun, and good cooking! Thank you everyone!
Here are some pictures from our wedding rehearsal, rehearsal dinner and then the day after our wedding at our family brunch. What a difference a day makes!
Thanks to Trina's sister, Tricia and her husband, James for some of the pictures below.
For our honeymoon, we wanted to go somewhere relaxing and beautiful...and what better place than Hawaii?! We spent the majority of our time there in Waikiki, but also toured Oahu island as well as the Big Island. We truly felt the Hawaiian spirit while we were there, we made sure to "hang loose", and Trina even danced again! It certainly was paradise!
